Jekyll is a static site generator that combines markdown with data rendering. Data is passed in YAML-format and can be used to enrich the content. For Jekyll the data can be passed as part of a page or as a separate file.

Having all the course material as well as our web-page on github provides one key benefit for digitizing our R&D as well as our educational processes: We can have a structured process around all these activities. git already gives us a basic distributed process. In github or gitlab we can then augment this process with additional steps easily.
